Abstract
The study investigates the influence of serious games on the perceptions of mothers regarding the development of their children with autism spectrum disorder in Saudi Arabia, specifically focusing on children exhibiting artistic tendencies. A quantitative descriptive research design was employed, with 850 structured questionnaires distributed to mothers of autistic children in Saudi Arabia. Through purposive sampling, 833 valid responses were obtained, representing 440 autistic children and 355 mothers. The originality of this research lies in its focus on the intersection of autism, maternal perceptions, and serious games within the cultural context of Saudi Arabia. This study provides insights into an under explored subgroup of the autism spectrum, enhancing our understanding of the use of technology in autism management. The study highlights the potential of serious games as an effective tool for supporting the development of children with autism and underscores the importance of considering demographic variables in understanding maternal perceptions of such interventions.
