Abstract

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a current trend that extends the frontier of the Internet to comprise a wide diversity of computing devices. IoT is a network of a connected embedded devices, such as sensors, which are able to produce, communicates and share data with one another. Several applications of IoT including smart grid, smart transportation, and smart cities, and smart home. Connecting numerous IoT devices through the Internet presents many complex security challenges. Unfortunately, conventional security techniques cannot be suitable to secure IoT systems against IoT Based attacks and exploits. Therefore, this paper explores fundamentals of IoT, and security and privacy issues for IoT systems as well as a study of current IoT based authentication techniques and future work in this innovative area. Also, this paper present an IoT based Authentication Framework for Smart IoT Systems such as Home Automation System.
