Abstract

The purpose of this study is to exploring learner''s factors in Korean vocabulary education. The characterists of learners factors are categorized by their first language, language proficiency, language institutes, and etc. To explore the learner''s factors, this study focused on some experimental research about effectiveness of vocabulary teaching methods. This study selects 108 individaul master thesises which were investigated the effectiveness of teaching methods. These studies conducted to measure the achievement scores of two group - control and experimental groups. All participants in these studies are Korean language learners of different levels of language proficiency from various countries. To review of synthesizing of study results, meta-analsis are conducted caculating the effect sizes of each study using CMA package. The study results showed the vocabulary teaching methods are more effective for single language group(Chinese learners of Korean)rather than the mixed language group. Also, the beginners get a benefit from vocabulary teaching than advanced learners.
