Abstract
Transition jitter, transition parameter, track width, and cross-track correlation length are extracted from the output of a micromagnetic read/write model as intergranular exchange and reader off-track position are varied. Jitter calculated from theory using the microtrack-based transition width at the track center shows good agreement with the jitter extracted from the micromagnetic model output. The transition parameter is found to have a minimum value with respect to exchange, while track width and jitter show no increase up to a scaled exchange of 0.08.
