Abstract

Based on the results of a series of experiments on a laboratory foam filtration unit, the specific flow rate of the irrigating liquid (1% aqueous soda solution) was determined, which ensures the maximum height of the foam and the phase contact surface in the foam apparatus, at an average gas velocity corresponding to its estimated consumption at the gas cleaning unit (gas velocity in the absorber is 2.7 m/s on average). During the experiment, the conditions in the laboratory foam filtration plant were similar to those in the industrial gas cleaning plant.
