Abstract

To enhance the application of machine-made sand (MMS) concrete in engineering, some performances of C30 ordinary concrete and MMS concrete are researched in this paper. Under the same ratio, the natural river sand was completely substituted by the MMS to prepare two kinds of concrete, and the working performances and 7d and 28d compressive strength of MMS concrete and ordinary concrete were compared and studied. The experimental results show that the MMS completely replaces the natural river sand, the slump, expansion and air content of MMS concrete are smaller than that of traditional concrete, the emptying time of slump cone and the apparent density are larger than that of ordinary concrete, and the working performances of MMS concrete becomes worse. The 7d and 28d compressive strength of MMS concrete is 4.9% and 5.7% lower by comparison of common concrete respectively, and the coefficient of variation is larger, but it meets the strength standard.
