Abstract
As an additive manufacturing technology, Laser Powder Bed Fusion (SLM) process is useful to directly form complicated shapes. We fabricated Ti6Al4V(Ti64) plate by LPBF system with single mode fiber laser and observed metallographic structures at Ti64 plate. As a result of the observation of cross section of corroded Ti64 plate, there are the chill layer and column crystal. Furthermore, the observation from two directions, vertical and parallel for a laser scan direction, showed the thermal history due to a laser scan direction effects crystal growth orientation.As an additive manufacturing technology, Laser Powder Bed Fusion (SLM) process is useful to directly form complicated shapes.
