Abstract

In order to obtain the heat transfer and resistance characteristics of a microchannel heat exchanger with zigzag flow channels, so as to realize the application of this type of microchannel heat exchanger in nuclear energy development and other fields, the heat transfer and resistance characteristics of the heat exchanger are experimentally studied. By measuring the flow and resistance characteristics of the heat exchanger under various conditions, the influence of various experimental parameters on the heat transfer and resistance performance of the microchannel heat exchanger with zigzag flow channels is analyzed, and the corresponding correlations of heat transfer coefficient and flow resistance factor are established. The research results show that due to the same plate structure, the heat transfer formula expressions of the cold side and the hot side of the microchannel heat exchanger are the same. Therefore, the experimental data obtained in this study can be used to validate the CFD simulation of this type of heat exchanger. Furthermore, the heat transfer coefficient and the flow resistance factor correlations proposed in this study can be used to design this type of heat exchanger.
