Abstract

Summary form only given. The self-breakdown characteristics (SBCs) of pseudospark switches (PSSs) with different structure have been experimentally investigated. Three new kinds of PSSs with unique structure have been developed. Their SBCs are shifted to higher-pressure region and they can operate at higher gas pressure with constant voltage. The aim is to lower the discharge erosion effect on the electrodes.
