Abstract

This paper deals with the experimental study of a mass spectrometer of the omegatron type developed by the Compagnie Générale de TSF. This instrument, the principle of which was described by Sommer Thomas and Hippie,1presents considerable analogy with that of the cyclotron, is intended on the one hand for the analysis of low pressure gases (P less than 10-5 Torr) and, on the other, for the detection of leaks in enclosures capable of maintaining a high vacuum, electron tubes in particular.
