Abstract
The experimental set-up for ion-photon coincidence measurements with a multiwire proportional chamber (MWPC) operating at low gas pressures as position sensitive ion detector is described. The readout system is based on individual sense wire readout and allows to registrate about 100 × 100 different polar coordinates of the scattered ions. The performance of the system in studies of inner-shell ionization in ion-atom collisions is described.
