Abstract

The results of experimental studies in hydrogen-oxygen air heater for autonomous power supply system are presented. As a result of studies, it was found that the use of a stepwise air supply scheme leads to the decrease in the formation of nitrogen oxides in a wide range of operation parameters. The separation of heating and air mixing into three zones ensured a decrease in the content of nitrogen oxides in the generated air down to 4 ppm. It was found that an increase in pressure in the combustion chamber leads to an increase in the completeness of hydrogen combustion and has practically no effect on the formation of nitrogen oxides. It is shown that nitrogen molecules directly enter the combustion zone with intensive oxidation, and to reduce the formation of nitrogen oxides, air must be supplied at a distance of at least 3 cooling zones in the combustion chamber.
