Abstract
Revision in the secondary mathematics curriculum is under way. For the past decade committees and study groups representing the thinking of prominent professional organizations have been active in discovering appropriate modifications of curriculum content and instructional procedures. Their recommendations have been subjected to extensive experimentation and evaluation and have now reached the mathematics classrooms through commercially published textbooks.
