Abstract

Three new animal models of anxiety are proposed to predict and profile putative anxiolytic agents. Conditioned ultrasonic vocalization in rats is proposed as a good predictive model for panic disorder, whereas stress-induced hyperthermia in mice and rat pup ultrasonic vocalization primarily predict generalized anxiety disorder and OCD.
