Abstract
Friction welding (FW) is one of the techniques that join solid-state work pieces by generating heat through mechanical friction. To investigate effects in welding, two different polymers, Nylon − 6 and Delrin (POM), were employed. The welding outputs may be determined by varying the diameter variations between specimens in the range of 5, 4, and 3 mm. The experiment is carried out by changing input parameters including friction pressure, burn-off length, and rotation speed using the trial and error approach.
