Abstract

The heat transfer coefficient (HTC) and pressure drop (PD) of MgO/H2O nanofluid through a flat tube with laminar flow condition are investigated in this work. MgO nanoparticle with the size of 75 nm, suspended in water with four different concentrations of 0.01, 0.05, 0.1, and 0.3 were applied as working fluids. This experiment was carried out with constant heat flux condition and temperature of 25 ˚C. The findings reveal that by raising the nanoparticles concentration and flow rate enhance the HTC and PD. Maximum improvement of HTC and PD by 46.39 % and 8.313 % for 0.3 wt% nanofluids, compared to distilled water.
