Abstract

Construction Industry is one of the leader in deterioration of environment. The production of cement consumes large quantities of raw materials, energy, heat and releases greenhouse gases. This paper focus to minimize the use of cement in the production of concrete. Concrete cubes and cylinders were prepared with 0,2, 4 and 6% nano-silica and cured. Mechanical properties such as compressive strength, Split tensile strength, Flexural Strength and Sulphate attack of concrete were obtained and compared with conventional concrete for 7 days, 14 days and 28days curing. The tests results shows 4% of nano-silica in concrete increases the Compressive and Split tensile strength of concrete.
