Abstract

This paper presents a colorimetric system with a color triangle that covers virtually the entire locus and has no unreal colors, whose mixing curves in this case have minimal negative branches. The goal of this paper is to experimentally evaluate the possibilities of this colorimetric system with respect to adequacy of color reproduction in a digital image for matching the recording stage and processing color images. An optoelectronic apparatus has been specially developed for experiments that use sets of color filters for each of the constituent colorimetric systems. A technique is developed for experimental studies, and an algorithm is considered for processing the results of the measurements. The correct color coordinates of the samples are obtained in the space under investigation. The results of the investigation are presented, and conclusions are drawn concerning putting the apparatus developed here into practice.
