Abstract
A procedure for the analyses of nonisothermal, batch reaction data is presented. Nonlinear regression analyses based on a least-squares objective function yield kinetic rate expression parameters from a single experiment. Data collected for the thermal decomposition of benzoyl peroxide in xylene were analyzed, illustrating differential and integral analyses. The Arrhenius frequency factor and activation energy determined were in agreement with published results obtained by isothermal experiments. In addition, the regression analyses determined the initial concentration of the reactant.
