Abstract

The paper is concerned with the determination of the minority carrier lifetime in solar cells. A modelling study is used to discuss the influence of the diffusion length of the carriers and of the thickness of the base, leading to a statement of the conditions for a proper determination of the lifetime from open-circuit voltage and short-circuit current transient measurements. High injection effects and impedance effects are discussed and an experimental study is reported.
