Abstract

Thermophysical properties such as density, (ρ), speed of sound, (u), and refractive index, (nD), experimental data (549 points) are presented in this work at 0.1 MPa and 298.15 K for the following ternary mixtures: dibutyl ether (1) + 1-butanol (2) + heptane (3) and dibutyl ether (1) + 1-butanol (2) + methylcyclohexane (3) and their corresponding binary mixtures. In addition, derivative properties such as excess volume, (VE), deviations in speed of sound, (Δu), isentropic compressibility (ks), deviations in isentropic compressibility, (Δks), and deviations in refractive index, (ΔnD), were calculated from the presented measured data. The Redlich-Kister equation is used to correlate the calculated derivative properties. Therefore, the Perturbed-Chain Statistical Associating Fluid Theory (PC-SAFT) Equation of State (EoS) is used to model the reported experimental data of density, and a good agreement is noticed between the experimental and the modeled data of density for different studied binary and ternary mixtures.
