Abstract

Cement concrete and cement mortar is the main focus of the researcher of construction industry for its improvement of mechanical and other Engineering properties. As these materials are having maximum use in the biggest industry of the world, that is construction industry. Only mechanical strength is not desired, but other properties like durability, chemical resistance, weather resistance etc. is also required in the advance building materials. Researchers are trying to reduce the use of cement consumption by improving its properties and on the other side alternative materials have also been used. This effort in reduction the use of cement will reduce the load on natural resources and to reduce the load of green house gases on environment. Nano materials, polymers, fly ash, have been tried with cement concrete so far. So many oxides of nano material have been tried, nano silica, nano alumina, nano titanium oxides have been experimented by many researchers. But the results given by different scientists regarding nano materials are very different and not consistent. In this experimental work authors tried to find the optimum percentage of nano materials with cement mortar for maximum compressive strength. The cement sand proportion was kept 1:3, water to binder ratio was kept 0.5, and no plasticiser was used
