Abstract
The article addresses the issue of calculating the movement, flow and hydrodynamic qualities of twisted ropes. The external form of twisted ropes varies depending on the conditions under which it must be operated. For the correct choice of twisted ropes, experimental studies are carried out on special installations, as well as using computer simulations. The determining hydrodynamic coefficients of twisted ropes are the resistance force coefficient, the passport (deepening) force coefficient and the lateral force coefficient. Computer modeling of twisted ropes is beginning to be widely used to find optimal solutions for their twisting in terms of hydrodynamics and strength.
