Abstract

70TeO2-(30-x)ZnO-xNa2O, x = 0, 3, 7, 10 and 15 mol% glasses were prepared. Samples amorphousity has been checked by XRD. Density and molar volume have been estimated. Longitudinal and shear ultrasonic wave velocities were measured by using pulse echo technique. Elastic moduli (bulk, shear, longitudinal, Young's), Poisson’s ratio, Debye temperature, microhardness and softening temperature of the glasses were measured. Theoretical analysis of the elastic moduli has been achieved. Bond compression (B.C) and Makishima - Mackenzie (M.M) models have been used to interpret the experimental data of elastic moduli.
