Abstract

As part of the fused deposition modelling (FDM) process of additive manufacturing, study is being done on the basic mechanical properties of a material called Polylactic Acid (PLA). Additive manufacturing was used to shape this material into the form that was needed. High tensile and flexural strengths, as well as an elastic quality, are some of the things that make something resistant to pressure. These are just a few of the things that fall under this group. The main goal of this study is to make the FDM method for additive manufacturing better, and the secondary goal is to get more people to use this technique. Both of these goals are connected to each other. Both of these goals can be met if this study is finished. The FDM method will be used to do an experiment on PLA material, and the FEA method will be used to do a theoretical study so that the goals of this project can be reached. Both of these plans will be put into action at the same time. Both must be done in a way that meets the standards set by the ASTM. Both of the tasks need to meet this requirement.
