Abstract
Specific features of correlation radio reception with the use of surface-acoustic-wave (SAW) correlators are considered. It is shown that the experimentally measured two-frequency transfer characteristic provides complete representation of the properties of actual SAW convolvers determining the noise immunity of the radio reception. For the example of experimentally investigated prototype waveguide convolvers, the critical imperfections in modern devices based on actual SAW technology are determined and modeled on the basis of the criterion of the noise immunity of correlation processing.
