Abstract
In order to realize the earthquake-resilience of column foot joint, based on the concept of plastic damage control, a new type of prefabricated cross hinge column foot joint is proposed in this paper. A series of quasi-static tests were carried out on the traditional rigid column foot joint, the new cross hinge column foot joint and its repaired specimens. The seismic performance, earthquake-resilience and fatigue performance was mainly investigated, and the various seismic indexes such as hysteretic curve, skeleton curve, stress-strain curve, energy dissipation capacity and slip capacity were obtained. The results show that new type of prefabricated cross hinge column foot joint has good bearing capacity and lateral stiffness; the joint has good energy dissipation capacity through the of friction slip of connecting plate and plastic deformation of lateral resistance energy-consuming device (LRECD); reasonable design of joint structure concentrates all the damage on the LRECD and cross hinge, which effectively avoids the plastic damage of structural column. After the earthquake, the normal use function can be restored only by replacing the lateral energy dissipation device, and the repaired column foot joints still have good seismic performance.
