Abstract

As part of a larger FASTBUS related design effort, we have completed three IBM PC projects. An analog to digital converter board demonstrated the suitability of the IBM PC as a hardware development tool. Subsequent design of an Intel 186 microprocessor board interfaced to the IBM PC through a dual port memory and an Ethernet controller board interfaced through FIFO buffers has taken place. This paper describes our experience with the IBM PC from both a hardware and software standpoint.
