Abstract

Fat grafting for breast augmentation is a procedure that is quickly growing in popularity. The authors examine current trends in fat grafting, explore the science behind the procedure, and share their technique, citing an evidence-based approach to fat grafting for primary breast augmentation. The complications of fat grafting are explained, and historic concerns about the safety and efficacy of the procedure are reviewed. Indications, including primary breast augmentation, correction of breast asymmetry/tuberous breast, and simultaneous implant explantation and fat grafting as well as breast reconstruction are explored.
