Abstract
The scientific problem of death and immortality is traditionally in the center of attention of researchers and is infinitely important, which is updated again and again in the works of futurologists. Transhumanism is sometimes even called the «religion of the XXI century» – biohacking, genetic experiments and even digital immortality are in progress. The purpose of the article: to explore the philosophical aspect of achieving immortality. Among the research methods: problem-chronological and interdisciplinary synthesis, content analysis and the method of included observation, historical-comparative and virtual anthropology. According to modern ideas, a person is what he is, and with the help of modern biomedical, information and communication technologies, he can continue his existence virtually indefinitely. Transplantation and cloning, bioingeneria and ciborgization, prosthetics and the transfer of brain functions to electronic means open the prospects of practical immortality.
