The collection of pictures designed by De Matteis merges photographs of commonplace materials with computer graphics images of the molecules that give the materials characteristic properties such as taste, smell, color, or texture. The collection was shown in London in November during the Royal Society of Chemistry's Chemistry Week. Earlier in 1997, it was displayed at a night club, a cinema, and libraries in Nottingham and at the Arts Centre at the University of Nottingham. Plans are under way to take the exhibition to Cardiff, Wales, and Edinburgh, Scotland, this year.
