Abstract

CYTOLOGIC study of sputum and bronchial washings has proved a valuable aid in the diagnosis of bronchogenic carcinoma of the lung. Mention is made in several reports of positive cytologic results in metastatic carcinoma to the lung,1 2 3 4 but little emphasis has been placed on this aspect of lung cytology.
