Abstract

Effective excitation region of Dy3+ has been expanded from low-energy ultraviolet (UVA) to high-energy ultraviolet (UVC) by the introduction of sensitizers into Dy3+ doped phosphate (NMBAP) glass phosphors. The cooperative effect of the sensitizers Ce3+ and Sb3+ generate remarkable enhancement on the fluorescence emission of Dy3+, attributing to the broadening of energy transmission channel to Dy3+. Diversified sensitization gain effects from tri-doped glass phosphors are discovered, providing a novel choice for the fluorescent optimization of Dy3+. Spectrum and image tracking confirm the Ce3+ and Sb3+ included Dy3+ doped NMBAP glass phosphors possess outstanding excitation response in whole UV region, which compensates the deficiencies in Dy3+ single-doped case. Intense fluorescence sensitization and delightful excitation extending in high-inclusive phosphate glass phosphors provide feasible routes for developing optoelectronic devices of light conversion, radiation detecting and laser illumination.
