Abstract
Metathetical exchange reactions between (a) ethylaluminium chlorides or aluminium chloride and (b) various silanes or trimethyltin chloride proceed under quite mild conditions. The Al–Et bond is cleaved more readily than the Al–Cl bond [e.g., 2Me3SiBr +(EtAlCl2)2→ 2Me3SiEt + Al2Br2Cl4].
