Abstract

The general emergency decision support system is designed for the community and county government levels and is designed to handle information for all sorts of emergency situations such as war/crisis, large stream of refugees, severe snowstorms, severe electricity failures and nuclear accidents. The main task for this system is to transfer basic resource information through the different organisation levels, and it has to interact with specialised decision support systems, designed for the above mentioned situations. One such specialised system is for nuclear accidents, which is described here. The interactions as well as different ways to transfer GIS information between the general and specialised systems is discussed. The development of the systems as well as finding solutions for the interactions between them are ongoing processes.
