Abstract

Excess molar enthalpies, excess molar volumes, and excess molar isobaric heat capacities were determined for (methyl methacrylate + methanol) and for (methyl methacrylate + ethanol) at 298.15 K. The excess enthalpies and heat capacities are positive for both mixtures; the excess volumes are positive for the ethanol mixture, but negative for the methanol mixture. The NRTL equation, with temperature-dependent parameters, provides a good correlation between the excess molar enthalpies, excess molar isobaric heat capacities, and previously published excess molar Gibbs free energies.
