Abstract

New excess volume data for four ternary mixtures were measured at 303.15 K. The mixtures included 1,3-dichlorobenzene and methyl ethyl ketone as common components. 1-propanol, 1-butanol, 1-pentanol and 1-hexanol were served as non-common components. The measured ternary excess volume ( V 123 E ) data are negative as a function of composition in all the mixtures. Further, the experimental data were compared with those predicted by empirical equations and were analysed in terms of intermolecular interactions between component liquids.
