Abstract
Densities ρ and speeds of sound u of { xCF 3CH 2OH + (1- x)HCON(CH 3) 2} and { xCF 3CH 2OH + (1- x)CH 3CN} were measured at the temperature 298.15 K. Excess molar volumes V E m and isentropic compressibilities K S and excess values K E S were estimated from these measurements, and isothermal compressibilities K T and K E T , and isochoric molar heat capacities C V, m and C E V, m , were found from the present measurements and excess isobaric molar heat capacities obtained previously. V E mS of both the mixtures were moderately positive. K E S and K E T of { xCF 3CH 2OH + (1- x)CH 3CN} were positive and of { xCF 3CH 2OH + (1- x)HCON(CH 3) 2} were negative. C E V, m s of both the mixtures were negative. Structures in the mixtures and the pure liquids are discussed here in relation to the thermodynamic properties H E m and C E p, m , in addition to the above, and in comparison with { xCF 3CH 2OH + (1- x)(CH 3) 2SO} previously reported.
