Abstract

Excess molar enthalpies and excess molar heat capacities atT=298.15 K were determined for {x1CH3O(CH2)2OH+(1−x1)c-(CH2)4O, orc-C6H12} and for {x1CH3O(CH2)2OH+x2c-(CH2)4O+(1−x1−x2)c-C6H12}. The experimental data were described through a Redlich–Kister type equation. The ternary mixtures exhibit large positive deviations for both properties investigated. TernaryHmEandCp, mEdata were poorly predicted by rules which empirically combine the same data of the pertinent binary mixtures. TheHmEdata were instead satisfactorily predicted by semi-empirical equations such as UNIQUAC and Wang, but not by UNIFAC.
