Abstract

Abstract In 2009, Xinjiang Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology conducted rescue excavation to the cultural remains in front of the Bezeklik Thousand-Buddha Caves located in Turfan Basin. The excavation recovered 54 remains including caves, house foundations, stupas, etc. The date of these remains was the Qoco Uyghur Period. The artifacts unearthed from these remains were potteries, wooden and stone implements, iron and bone objects, textiles and manuscripts; in some caves, murals and ground paintings were found. This excavation provided new data for the researches on the Bezeklik Thousand- Buddha Caves.
