Abstract

1. High-parameter water has only a slight effect on the fatigue strength of the 08Kh18N10T steel in comparison with the results of the tests carried out in air at the same temperature. 2. The corrosion-fatigue strength of steel 20 in distilled high-parameter water (for 107 cycles) is higher than in air at 300°C. 3. The fatigue crack growth rate in the steel 20 specimens is slightly higher than in the steel 08Kh18N10T specimens, both in air at 300°C and in distilled high-parameter water. 4. Taking into account the above-mentioned special features of the effect of high-parameter water on steels 20 and 08Kh18N10T, steel 20 may be used instead of the corrosion-resisting steel.
