Abstract

Lithium manganese oxides are the subject of intense interest due to their potential application as the positive electrode in rechargeable lithium batteries. Strategies to improve the performance include variation of the chemical structure, via doping with other cations, and changing the crystal structure. In this paper the local structure in spinel LiMn2O4, both pure and doped with Co, Ni, Ga and In, and layered LiMnO2 have been investigated by EXAFS spectroscopy. (© 2005 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
