Abstract

The Arabic manuscripts collection at St. Petersburg State University is one of the most significant of its kind in Russia. Its cataloguing and descriptions are the result of extensive and long term work. The collection's distinguishing feature is its involvement in teaching university programs. Using a series of significant publications on the subject as an example, this article presents the history of the creation and description of the collection, along with new prospects for researching and publishing the manuscripts comprising it, as well as potential applications in the realm of education.
