Abstract
To prevent frost damage in cold regional tunnels, a new type of air curtain insulation system is proposed. With Caomugou Tunnel as a prototype, a steady-state heat transfer model is constructed with flow-solid coupled convection and conduction. And the radial temperature field of the surrounding rocks is explored under the effect of the air curtain. For the purpose, the test system is designed under different conditions of ambient temperature, external wind speed, jet velocity, jet temperature and jet angle. The heat transfer model and the test system is verified by comparing and analyzing with the measured data. Thus, it is proved that this insulation system helps to prevent frost damage and plays a positive role in promoting the development of cold regional tunnel engineering.
