Abstract
The explications of Evliyâ Celebi about Constantin I, came down with leprosy, are not only meaningful in terms of understanding the illness of lepsory, but also as how a fictional story, belonging Byzantine culture, was understood by Ottomans. Furthermore, this story, related directly to “Donation of Constantine”, which has transformed into the most disputed texts of the Renaissance and early age of enlightment in West, becomes importance when evaluated comparatively in terms of how it gained ground in the mental world of an Ottoman intellectual and in what respect it was discussed.
