Abstract

Abstract: (Z)‐5‐Tetradecenyl acetate, a synergist in attraction of Canadian Amathes c‐nigrum L. males by the main sex pheromone component, acted as an inhibitor for European populations of this species in Bulgaria, Romania and Hungary. Data on electroantennographic responses of A. c‐nigrum males to some monounsaturated acetates, alcohols and aldehydes are also presented and the activity of pheromone inhibitors for the species found in Canada is confirmed for European populations.
