Abstract

Traditional WSN’s time synchronization does not fit the needs of data fusion and large data transmission in High and Medium Rate WSN (MHWSN). In the structure of fixed network topology, there exists the problem that the synchronization errors between neighbor nodes are relatively large. At the same time, the whole-network synchronization mechanism is not suitable for the case that the data processing cycle of MHWSN is longer. An event-triggered local synchronization mechanism is presented in this paper. Simultaneously, a routing algorithm for synchronization is designed to solve the neighbor synchronization problem. The simulation results show that: The proposed synchronization mechanism reduces the cost of synchronizing in the event area, and the synchronization error between interest nodes is lowered too.
