Abstract

Fiber grid reinforcement typically used in rehabilitated pavement has shown to mitigate reflective cracking. In this study, different fiber grid materials were evaluated based on fatigue cracking resistance using the Overlay Tester (OT) Machine. A comparison on the number of cycles to failure and a surrogate method was conducted. This observation led to further analysis on three sample configurations to evaluate its performance year based on reflection cracking rate. The test results indicated that using fiber grid reinforcement substantially increase the fatigue cracking resistance. Good correlation was observed between crack rate index and number of cycles to failure.
