Abstract
In this work, the oil film thickness of journal bearings is evaluated under dynamic-load condition by the numerical and experimental methods. The numerical method is based on the Reynolds equation with Reynolds boundary condition. The oil film is measured with eddy-current displacement sensors. It is confirmed that the numerical and experimental results agree qualitatively in terms of the relationship between rotating speed and average oil film thickness.
