Abstract

Published experimental data for stress-rupture strength with stepwise loading and cyclic overloads are analyzed. On the basis of generalizing these data a procedure is suggested for calculating the equivalent failure stress and calculation errors are determined. Statistical treatment shows that these errors are within the limits of the natural scatter of high-temperature material properties in stress-rupture tests. It is established that in order to carry out calculations normal stress-rupture strength curves are required.
